ABOUT THE MISSION:
Conrad Anthony Baumer 86, of King, WI, formerly of Manawa, passed away early Thursday morning, August 29, 2019, at the Wisconsin Veterans Home, King, Wisconsin, surrounded by his loving family. “Connie” was born in the Town of Little Black on December 11, 1932, one of nine children of Leo and Margaret Baumer. At the age of seventeen he enlisted in the United States Army, and began serving in Korea in December of 1950, at the beginning of the Korean War. He was wounded in March of 1951, and was awarded a Purple Heart. Connie married the former Henrietta Gehrke on August 27, 1955. Connie was known to a number of our members as the owner of the Harley Davidson Motorcycle dealership in Manawa and eventually acquiring the Suzuki Motorcycle franchise. “Connie” loved riding motorcycles, and, along with several other enthusiasts, formed the “Connie’s 74 Riders” motorcycle club. Riders are encouraged to attend.
