Mission Complete:May 21 2019 Conrad A. Forrest USA Vietnam Veteran, Chandler, Ok
On Tuesday there were 4 Patriot Guard Riders in 3 cages who attended the mission to Honor the Military service of USA SSG Conrad A. Forrest Vietnam Veteran at the Oak Park Cemetery in Chandler, OK.
The area around the burial site was staked with The American Flag and the Army Service Flag that proudly waived in the breeze waiting for the family and friends to arrive.
The briefing was held, followed by a moment of silence for the Blue, Silver and Gold Star families, POW’s and MIA’s. A prayer asking for comfort for the grieving family, a safe mission, and for protection for our military personnel still engaged in the Global War on Terror was also said.
The PGR stood the Flag Line as the Hero’s urn and American Flag was carried by PGR Members and placed on the table to start his service.
The Surviving Spouse spoke a few words about our Hero’s life and his accomplishments, the PGR read and presented the Plaque, and the Ride Captain thanked the family for allowing us to come and help celebrate the life of our hero.
The Military Honor Guard played Taps and Folded the Flag before presenting it to the surviving spouse.
Thank you to all of my fellow Patriot Guard Riders for attending this mission, your presence made a difference to this family.
Most of all Thank you to SSG Conrad A. Forrest for your service to this great Nation. Rest in Peace soldier, your mission is complete and you will not be forgotten.
Respectfully,
Jeff “Poppa Bear” Huff
