  1. 29 Dec 20, Mission Complete, USN WW II Veteran F1C Clinton Lewis Ewell, Oklahoma City OK.

On 29 Dec, a cold, wet and windy day, 9 Patriot Guard Riders on 2 bikes and 6 cages rode the final mission to Honor the military service of World War II Veteran F1C Clinton Lewis Ewell at Memorial Park Funeral Home in Oklahoma City, OK.
The front of the funeral home was staked with American Flags prior to the mission by PGR members. The briefing was read at the staging area followed by a moment of silence for the Blue, Silver and Gold Star Families, POWs and MIAs.

Following the briefing, the PGR stood a Flag line to welcome Family and Friends to the service. After the service, the PGR accompanied the Hero and Family to Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City.

After a safe, successful accompaniment, the PGR stood another Flag line at the cemetery.

The Navy Honor Guard played taps and folded the flag. The Hero’s Family was then presented the PGR Plaque and Invocation. Following the presentations, the service was concluded and the PGR members were dismissed.
Thank you to all the Patriot Guard Riders that took time on this day to honor this Hero.

The Family and Friends were very appreciative of the PGR presence and thanked us for being there.

Above all, Thank you World War II Veteran F1C Clinton Lewis Ewell for your service to this Great Nation. Rest in Peace Sailor, we have the watch, and you will never be forgotten.

    Respectfully,
    Mike Sykes, RCIC

  2. I want to express my deepest thank you to the Patriot Guard but I don’t have the words to let you know what’s in my heart. It meant so much for all of you to be there to recognize my dad for his service. The flags and your presence was so powerful, I hope you truly realize the gift you give to the families. I know my daddy would have been impressed. Thank you and God bless you all.
