It was his Honor to serve his country as a SGT In the US Army  in Vietnam as an Army Green Beret with the 5th Special Forces Group  assigned to the MAC-V-SOG  Special Mission Forces Unit. His Awards and  Commendations include National Defense Service Medal\, Parachute Badge\,  Vietnam Service Medal\, Vietnam Campaign Medal W/60 Device\, Sharpshooter  Badge M16\, and Bronze Star Medal. Mr. Curtis was a professionally rated  skydiver and instructor with over 4800 jumps\, most of them without  injury. He enjoyed reading\, hunting\, fishing and riding motorcycles. He  was a Member of the VFW Post 7542 in Birch Run\, American Legion Post 99  and the Taymouth Historical Society.
