Clarence Smith Wilson Jr. Comment

  1. Mission Complete: 30 March 2019-CPL Clarence Smith Watts Jr., USA Veteran, Guthrie Ok.

On a cold crisp morning there were 19 Patriot Guard Riders and riders from other clubs and organizations on 12 bikes and 6 cages who attended the mission to Honor the Military Service of CPL. Clarence Smith Watts Jr. at the Remnant Church in Guthrie, Ok. The area surrounding the funeral home was staked and the American flags flew proudly in the wind as family and friends arrived.

The briefing was held, followed by a moment of silence for the Blue, Silver, and Gold Star families, POW’s and MIA’s. A prayer asking comfort for the grieving family, a safe mission and protection for our military personnel engaged in the Global War on Terror was also said.

Riders stood the Flag Line by the Church entrance and manned the doors as family and friends arrived for the service. When the service started, the Riders returned the flags to the flag vehicle.

At the conclusion of the service, Riders members stood a Respect Line as the Hero was moved from the Church to the coach. With the able assistance of the Guthrie Police Dept., Riders accompanied the Hero, family and friends to Summit View Cemetery in Guthrie, which had been staked and flagged prior to the arrival of the accompaniment and stood the Respect Line as the Hero was moved from the coach to the gravesite.

Members of the Army Honor Guard folded the flag and Taps was played and the Flag was presented to the wife by the Honor Guard, who stood by as the PGR Plaque and Invocation were presented to the Hero’s spouse.

The family was thanked for inviting us to come and Honor the Military Service of their loved one.

Thank you to all the riders for attending this mission, your presence made a difference to this family.

Most of all, thank you CPL Clarence Smith Watts Jr. for your service to this great Nation.

Rest in Peace, your mission is complete, and you will not be forgotten.

    Respectfully

    RCIC: Jeff Cowan
