As early as 10 years of age many people in the sports community said that Chris showed much promise as an athlete. He was known for his love of his family\, a great personality\, easy to get along with and his patriotism for this great nation we live in. Chris attended Tucson Magnet High School and continued to show his talent on the field in football and baseball. SPC Moon deployed with this unit to Afghanistan in September of 2009. \nOn 6 July 2010\, SPC Moon was injured when insurgents attacked his unit with IEDs while conducting a combat patrol in Arghandab River Valley\, Afghanistan. \nSPC Moon lost his battle to injuries that he sustained on 13 July 2010 supporting Operation Enduring Freedom. SPC Moon was the 12th Navajo Nation Soldier to pay the ultimate sacrifice in the middle east since 11 September 2001. \nHe leaves behind his parents\, his sister\, his niece\, many family members and many friends along with the community of Tucson. \nThe Patriot Guard Riders were at that time asked to come and stand in honor and respect for the ultimate sacrifice SPC Moon and his family gave as we were honored to do so. \nNow the family has once again asked us to come and stand a flag line.
