Honor Mission
Charles William Swanger

ABOUT THE MISSION:

The family of SFC Swanger has requested the Patriot Guard to stand a flag line at his funeral service. He served in the United States Army National Guard for twenty-one years. For over thirty-five years, Sergeant First Class Swanger has been an active member of American Legion Frank Roach Post 34. His activities included American Legion Honor Guard and was currently the Post Commander. He also was a member of Masonic Lodge #416 in Newport and a Shriner. Swanger was active in both, holding many different positions and offices. In his civilian life, Charles Swanger retired from Star Paper Tube, Co. as a machine shop supervisor. This is a two-part mission.

At the start of this funeral service, the Patriot Guard Riders will be dismissed, unless they want to remain for the service.
Please see part two of this mission for the Fort Jackson National Cemetery service in Columbia on Friday, 6 Nov. As a personal honor, his American Legion Riders will be escorting his body to Ft. Jackson National Cemetery and stand with the PGR in his honor.

Briefing: 8:30 AM
Meet at the Administration building for a briefing and movement as a group to the committal shelter for the arrival of the procession.
Maintain the flag line throughout the service that starts at 9:00 AM.
For PGR missions during the COVID-19 virus, we will abide by all rules and regulations set by the CDC and the State of South Carolina Department of Veterans’ Affairs as stated in part one of this mission. Face coverings are mandatory at the national cemetery.
