ABOUT THE MISSION:
Charles (Charlie) Richard Troy, age 72, of Wallace, NC, left this earthly life for his eternal rest on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 from New Hanover Regional Medical Center. Charlie was born on March 1, 1948 in Berwick PA. After completing high school, Charlie served his country proudly in the United States Army where he served until he was wounded in Vietnam and received a Purple Heart. After recuperating from his injuries, Charles attended the University of Missouri where he studied English. Following the receipt of a masters’ degree, he began working for the United States Government and served in various roles for over thirty years. In 2013, Charlie retired from the department of Citizenship & Immigration Services in NYC and settled in Wallace, NC where he continued to serve his county throughout retirement through various veterans organizations. As an active member of the Purple Heart society, he was a proud American and cherished spending time with fellow veterans in the Beirut Memorial Chapter #642 of Jacksonville, NC.
**This will be a three day, three part mission.
**SPECIAL NOTE: Maintain social distancing during briefings and flag lines, as outlined by the CDC and the governor’s guidelines. Face coverings are recommended and social distancing from non-household members is required.
