ABOUT THE MISSION:
Ladies and Gentlemen of the Patriot Guard Riders, we have been invited by the family of CPO Charles Hixenbaugh to attend his final military honors. Charlie joined the USAF in June 1968, with one tour of duty to Vietnam, leaving Active Duty in June of 1974 – after joining the US Navy in April of 1974(!), serving 5 years 9 months. Charlie left the Navy in 1980 and worked for General Motors until he reenlisted in the US Navy in 1987 serving until 1991 – all told, CPO Charles Hixenbaugh served his country for just shy of 21 years with both the US Air Force as a Weapons Control System Mech and the US Navy as a Radar Technician. In that 21 years CPO Hixenbaugh earned several awards and medals, to include: Navy Achievement Medal, Unit Meritorious Commendation, Navy “E” Ribbon (with 2 silver E’s), Good Conduct Medal – 3rd award, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Navy Expeditionary Medal, Nat’l Defense Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon – 4 Bronze Stars, Navy & Marine Overseas Service Medal – 3 Bronze Stars. As well as his distinguished service with the military and in the public sector, Charlie was well loved by his family and friends; he is survived by his wife of 38 years, 3 sons and one grandchild. Please let’s send this hero off with the respect and honor he has earned!

Temps should be in the upper 50’s with a chance of rain, please check the weather and arrive safely!

Water will be provided.
