Charlie was born Thursday\, October 24\, 1918 in Allegan\, MI  to Wallace and Ethel (Clark) Lewis. After attending Eau Claire Schools\,  he worked in three Upper Peninsula Michigan Civilian Conservation Corps  (CCC) Camps until 1938.
