ABOUT THE MISSION:
The Patriot Guard Riders have the distinct honor and privilege of standing for US Army retiree and current active duty LEO Charles Edward Norton. SSG (R) Norton served 20 years as a 31R (MultichannelTransmission Systems Operator) and a 31U (Signal Support Systems Specialist). Among his many awards and decorations, he received the Kuwait Liberation Medal (2nd award), the Army Achievement Medal (2nd award) and, the Southeast Asia Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars. After his retirement from the military, he worked with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office for 22 years. He was assigned as a sergeant to the Field Operations Division.

We will stand a flag line as family and guests arrive for the visitation until 6:00 pm.
We will abide by all social distancing and COVID guidelines of the CDC and local authorities. Masks are not required due to us being outside but are encouraged if you are in close proximity to others. Masks will be required if you go inside the funeral home.
Flags & Water:
Flags will be provided
Large Bike Flags will NOT be needed.
Water WILL NOT be provided, please bring your own.

Special Instructions:

Briefing at 1:30. Move to the shelter as a group.
We will abide by all rules and regulations set by the CDC and the State of South Carolina Department of Veterans’ Affairs. Each attendee is responsible to bring a personnel face-covering. PGR members will maintain at least a six-foot distance between each other during the briefing and flag line. We will be no closer than forty feet from the family.
