Sadly we are called to stand a Flag Line to Honor Charles D. Parent, SSG, US Army, who served in Operation Iraqi Freedom with Battery C, 2nd Battalion, 6th Air Defense Artillery Brigade as a Phoenix Avenger Crew member from 2004 to 2012. He was awarded the Air Force Airman Medal, Bronze Star Medal with Valor Device and Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Commendation Medal with Valor Device and 6 Oak Leaf Clusters, the Army Achievement Medal, the Army Good Conduct Medal with 2 Knots, the National Defense Service Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal with 4 Bronze Service Stars, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Army Non Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, the Army Service Ribbon, the Army Overseas Service Ribbon, the Combat Action Badge with 1 Star, the Air Assault Badge and 4 Overseas Service Bars.
We will provide a Flag Line at the Funeral Home during the service starting at 1000 (10:00 am), and at the cemetery during the Interment. We will provide a Flag Vehicle Escort from the Funeral Home to the Cemetery.
Assistant State Captain Jack Casey will be RCIC and Flags will be on site.
