ABOUT THE MISSION:

Mr. Dearing grew up in Port Neches on a dairy and sorghum farm which taught him to be no stranger to hard work. He graduated from Port Neches High School and then enlisted in the United States Navy. He was stationed on the USS Blue Ridge in the Pacific Ocean where the atomic bomb was being tested. He also sailed aboard the USS Saugus. He attained the rank of Electricians Mate 3. He was awarded the World War II Victory Medal.
