ABOUT THE MISSION:
Born in Richmond, Virginia, Chuck enlisted in the Army in 1941 prior to WWII and initially served as a training NCO for the war mobilization effort. In January 1943 he graduated from the U.S. Army Ordnance Officer Candidate School (OCS) at Aberdeen Proving Ground and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant. Assignments included wartime service in the Pacific Theater of Operations including New Guinea, the Philippine Islands and Japan. Following WII, his assignments included the Panama Canal Zone, European Command HQ’s in France, Commander of 703rd Maintenance Battalion (3rd Infantry Division) in Germany, Korea and stateside installations including the Pentagon, Philadelphia, Chicago, New Cumberland and Fort Lee. After 33 years of active duty, he retired at Fort Lee in 1974 as Deputy Commandant, U.S. Army Logistics Management Center.

To the Whitlock family I know your are extremely proud of your fathers service to our country. May you all know though the Colonel know longer walks amongst us on earth he shall never be forgotten by all that knew him.
