ABOUT THE MISSION:

The Patriot Guard Riders will stand a flag line at the visitation and the funeral service to honor the service of MSG (Ret) Carlisle Courtney.  Carlisle was a veteran of the US Army and also the South Carolina Army National Guard.  He retired from the SC Army National Guard in 1998 with a total of 42 years service.  He was employed at the Guard’s Organizational Maintenance Shop at Edgefield until his retirement.  He continued to work as a small engine mechanic until his illness.  During his service with the 122d Engineer Battalion, he deployed to Central and South America on several occasions to provide maintenance support to the engineer personnel building medical clinics and schools.  He was always ready, willing and able to provide help to those who needed it.

After the briefing, we will form a flag line and hold it until the beginning of the service. During the service, we will stand down and prepare to render honors as MSG Courtney is put in the coach and accompany the procession to Central Baptist Church, 1652 Wire Road, Aiken, South Carolina 29802
Upon arrival, we will form a flag line and hold it during the graveside service and rendering of military honors.
