INTERMENT SERVICE FOR FALLEN US ARMY PFC
C.L. “TONY” DUNCAN

The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited by the family of fallen U.S. Army PFC C. L. “Tony” Duncan to “Stand The Flag Line” and show honors & respect during his interment service at the Alturas Cemetery in Alturas, Ca. Tony was born on May 19, 1943 in Bakersfield Ca. and passed away on Dec 1, 2015 in Redding, Ca. at the age of 72. PFC Duncan served his country proudly from Jan. 4, 1961 thru Dec 17,1963 and attained the rank of Private First Class. His service medals include Marksman (Rifle M-1) Marksman (MG .30) while serving as an Armored Intel Spec. with HHT 2nd Recon Sqdn, 9th Cav USARSEVEN in Germany.

Tony was an avid outdoorsman and hunter and liked nothing better than sitting around telling his friends tales of his hunting escapades.

Tony worked for the California Dept of Corrections for many years, beginning in 1965 and among other duties spent time as the Sergeant at Intermountain CC#22 in Nubieber before promoting to Lieutenant at the California Correctional Center in Susanville. From there he was successful in becoming assigned as the opening Camp Lieutenant at Devil’s Garden CC#40, located near Alturas, California, where he served until his retirement in 1997.

Because of his love of life, his sense of humor and his love for his family, he will be missed by many.

Interment Services to begin at 1100 hrs at Alturas Cemetery where the PGR will stand flag line along the entry road inside the cemetery. Once the family & friends have arrived, we will dismiss and re-assemble in our customary semi-circle around the attendees. Please remember to bring your flags.

Springtime weather in Modoc County is very unpredictable so come prepared.
