ABOUT THE MISSION:

We have been requested to stand in Honor of the Military Service of Byron Russell Hill, Jr., who passed away unexpectedly on June 23rd at the age of 53. Mr. Hill served 10 years Active Duty in the U.S. Navy, from 1983-1992. His service included 3 years aboard the USS Coral Sea (CV-43) as an Electricians Mate, as well as service at the Naval Submarine Support Facility, New London, CT. Mr. Hill was Honorably Discharged on 15 December 1992 with the rating of Electricians Mate First Class (EM1) (E-6.) For his Service to our Nation, EM1 Hill’s awards include: Two Navy Good Conduct Medals, National Defense Service Medal, Two Navy Unit Commendation Awards, Navy Expeditionary Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Two Sea Service Deployment Ribbons, Naval Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist Badge, and a Letter of Commendation.

In addition to his Naval Service, Mr. Hill also served with the Army National Guard (records not available at this time).

Travel to the home of Mr. Hill’s mother, and provide Dignified Escort of mother and son back to the church.

Memorial Service at 1:00 P.M.
Mission ends after the Service.

NOTE: Interment with Full Military Honors will take place in the near future at Bath National Cemetery. At that time, the PGR will provide an escort to the Cemetery.

Please arrive on time with a clean 3×5 American Flag, or U.S. Navy flag,and dress for the weather.

Please ensure your large bike flags are properly placed and securely attached.

Please do whatever you’re able to help ensure there is a good PGR presence in Honor of Mr. Hill’s service to our nation, and in support of his loving and grieving family.

Flags Will NOT Be Provided, Please Bring Your Own.
If you have large bike flags, please bring them.
Water WILL NOT be provided, please bring your own.
