He entered active duty on Apr. 20\, 1965 and was a Military Policeman with the Pacific Air Force Command. Byron spent 2 yrs\, 6 mo. And 4 days in Vietnam. On Nov. 24\, 1968\, Byron was released from active duty and transferred to the United States Air Force Reserve\, having attained the rank of Sergeant. On Apr. 19\, 1971\, having completed his term of service\, Byron was honorably discharged.
