On behalf of the Norris family, I extend our sincerest gratitude to the Patriot Guard Riders for your mission to stand tall at our father’s funeral and burial on Thursday, May 16, 2019. Our father, Boyd (Jack) Norris, was 97. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1940 to 1946 during WWII. After his military service, he worked for the U.S. Army in a civilian capacity, right up to his retirement. He was a good man. He married the love of his life, who sadly passed in 2001, and they raised seven children. He lived a long, happy, fulfilling life, with many roles as husband, dad, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, but he was always a sailor at heart. He would have been overwhelmingly touched by your presence on his burial day. So on his behalf, and my whole family’s, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You are an outstanding organization, whose members volunteer their time to pay respect to our brave veterans who so richly deserve it. We also appreciate the kind, personal notes your riders included with his certificate of honorary membership in the Patriot Guard Riders. Extra special thanks to Denny Dutchman Eads, Ride Captain. Thank you!
