Bobby Jack Stephens, Veteran

ABOUT THE MISSION:

Bobby Jack Stephens proudly served 4 years in the Air Force as a flight engineer and Air Rescue in Fairbanks, Alaska, where his oldest daughter was born. After the service, he returned to the newspaper business as Circulation Manager for several papers including Brownwood Bulletin, Sherman Democrat and Port Arthur News. In 1980 he and his wife bought an auto parts store in Pottsboro where he ran the store with his wife and youngest daughter until 2000 when he closed it. He also sold real estate for Steve Cook ERA in Pottsboro.
Mr. Stephens was a member of Texas Circulation Managers Association where he met many of his dear friends and the International Circulation Managers Association. He was a dual member of Travis Masonic Lodge #117 AF and AM in Sherman and George R. Reeves Masonic Lodge #396 AF & AM in Pottsboro where his father was also a member. He was very active in the Lodge throughout his life, serving as Master of both lodges, District Deputy and other positions. Mr, Stephens was also a member of the Dallas division of the Scottish Rite where he was honored to be selected as a Red Hat.

Riders will stage at the funeral home to be briefed and to stand tall and silent as family and friends arrive. After the service begins, and at the direction of the RC, flags will be returned to the support vehicle. Riders will then receive a safety briefing and be staged for the procession to the cemetery.
**Procession: Partial escort likely, dependent on weather.

Briefing Time: 1:30 PM
In Position/KSU Time: 1:45 PM
Starting Time: 2:00 PM
Estimated: Those riders not participating in part one, or in the procession, may stage at the cemetery to be briefed.  Riders will establish a flag line and await the arrival of the procession. Riders in the procession will quickly dismount and join the flag line. Riders will stand tall and silent until the completion of the service, after which flags will be returned to the support vehicle. Riders will be then be debriefed and dismissed.PGR participation will include the folding and presentation of the flag.
**Depending on the weather, this may take place at the funeral service instead of at the interment.
