  1. EOM Report – 04 August 2020, SFC Bobby Hunt Blair, USA Retired Korea/Vietnam Veteran, Tahlequah/Fort Gibson, OK

A welcome break from the summer heat greeted ten PGR, including one new rider, gathered at Green Country Funeral Home to honor SFC Bobby Hunt Blair, USA Retired and Veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. Flags were posted in front of the Chapel to greet family and friends. We held a briefing for the mission, highlighting road rules, upcoming missions and safety protocols due to the ever-present pandemic. We concluded with a moment of silence for our Gold, Silver and Blue Star families and a prayer for all gathered today, our military and first responders. We then manned doors and stood a flag line greeting the attendees.

When the service started, we gathered the flags and stored them for the next mission. At the end of the service, a respect line was formed as other PGR members acted as pall bearers loading our hero into the coach. We were escorted through town by Tahlequah PD, Cherokee County Sheriff and Northeastern State University Police. Cherokee County and NESU stayed with us all the way to Fort Gibson National Cemetery where we were greeted by an additional three PGR riders at the Committal Shelter. Again, a respect line formed, and several PGR acted as pall bearers as our hero was moved to the shelter. Following a moving read from a Vietnam Veteran honoring his brothers in battle, the pastor said a few words and then USA and VFW Honor Guard provided military honors to include a three-gun volley. The PGR then stepped up to present our plaque, invocation and render a final salute.

Thank you to all who took time to honor our hero today and the Blair family for asking us to join in this celebration. Thanks to the Tahlequah PD, Cherokee County Sheriff and NESU PD for making our travels safe today. Most of all, thank you SFC Bobby Hunt Blair for your faithful career to our great country. You will not be forgotten.

    Dan Koehling
