Billy Mitchell Comment

  1. Mission Complete – MSG Billy Mitchell, Ret. USAF, USMC, USA, Korea, Vietnam war Veteran Ardmore, Ok.

I would like thank all who made the mission today to honor MSG Billy Mitchell, Ret. USAF, USMC, USA, Korea, Vietnam war Veteran Ardmore, Ok.

On a windy cold afternoon, we had 6 bikes/trikes and 7 PGR members present to honor Mr. Mitchell.

Pre mission we staked flags at the Rose Hill Cemetery. At the church we staked flags at the church and stood a flag line as Family and friends arrived. Upon completion of the services we stood an honor line as they moved Mr. Mitchell from the church to the coach. With help from the Carter County Sheriff’s Dept. we escorted Mr. Mitchell to Rose Hill Cemetery. We stood another honor line as the Army Honor Guard carried Mr. Mitchell from the coach to the gravesite.

After a short sermon and prayer from the preacher the Army Honor Guard did a 3-volley gun salute followed by echo Taps. They than folded and presented the flag to MSGT Mitchell’s wife. The PGR plaque and Invocation was than presented to Mrs. Mitchell.

A special thank you to MSGT Mitchell for your service and dedication to protecting our freedoms.

    David “sleepy” Engelhardt
