ABOUT THE MISSION:
Fellow Riders, the family of Billie Middleton has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to stand for their loved one. Mayor Middleton passed away on May 17 at the age of 78. Billie J. Middleton served in the US Marine Corps for 3 years and months. He received a Good Conduct Medal and an Honorable Discharge. Other awards and commendations are unknown at this time. Mr. Middleton was elected Mayor of the Town of Loxley and served in that capacity for over 30 years. He was a member of the Loxley Church of God, volunteering in various capacities during his lifetime. The Loxley Optimist Club was founded in 1980 with Mr. Middleton acting as Charter President. He was later elected to a second term as President and for many years served as Treasurer of the Club. In 1988 Mr. Middleton was elected Governor of the Alabama/Mississippi District of Optimist International, and also served multiple terms as Lieutenant Governor of District 29 Zone 6 of the organization. There will be a Flag Line during Visitation. Final Salute before Funeral Service Begins. Mayor Middleton stood many a hard day and night so that we might be safe and free. Now it is our turn to stand and honor him for his service and sacrifice. Ride safe!
