ABOUT THE MISSION:
The Family of Bill Bruce Neilson, 90, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to stand in honor of his service to our Country. Bill was born 25 Oct. 1929, and died 14 Apr of this year. Bill was living in Burton when he joined the US Army on 14 May, 1951. He proudly served his Country in Korea during the Korean War, assigned to the Fifth Army Construction Engineering Division. He was the recipient of a number of Military Awards and Commendations, to include the Army of Occupation Medal for Japan. Upon his discharge from the Army in May of 1953, Bill subsequently went to work at the General Motors Buick Assembly Plant in Flint, retiring with 35 years of service. A proud member of the UAW #599, Bill was also an antique car enthusiast, and was the treasurer and founding member of the Genesee Gear Grinders Hotrod Club. Bill also enjoyed spending time at his cottage at Sand Lake.
