DESCRIPTION:The family of Bertram Gardes has requested the Patriot Guard to pay Honors to this American Hero. It will be our honor to do so. \nBertram was born in 1925 and was part of that generation that was born and raised to work hard all their lives. He worked hard and played hard at everything. \nBertram served in the United States Coast Guard aboard the USS General Hugh L. Scott (AP-136) a Squire class transport ship for the US Navy in WWII. The ship was crewed by the Coast Guard until she was decommissioned. She was named in honor of US Army General Hugh Lenox Scott. \nBertram was a Watertender Second Class.\n\nUpon completion of his enlistment Bertram went to work for Jorgansen Steel as a heat treater. He retired from there in 1981. \nBertram loved to read and travel. Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.
