The loved ones of Bennett Alston invite the Patriot Guard Riders to join them in remembrance of his service to his nation and community.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, a son, a daughter, and a host of other family and loved ones.
He was the owner of Alston Tomato Company for over 50 years and a member of Sylvan Hills First Baptist Church.
Mr. Alston entered the Army on Christmas Eve 1945, one month shy of 18 years old. He was assigned to Company “D” 397th Military Police Battalion, 3rd Army Division, during the occupation of Germany following the war. He served as security detail in Nuremberg during the military tribunals held for war crimes. He was honorably discharged on December 3, 1946 as a PFC, receiving the WW II Victory Medal and the Occupation Medal of Germany.
