DESCRIPTION:AZ1 Roy A Benson\, 90\nUSN\, (Ret)\nWWII/Korea/Vietnam\nSan Diego\, CA\n14 July 16\n\n\n\nThe family of Roy Albert Benson has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor this hero for his service to his country.  It will be our privilege to do so.  \nRoy served in the US Navy a total of 22 years.  At the time of his discharge he had attained the rank of AZ1 (Aviation Maintenance Administrationman Petty Officer 1st Class).    \nRoy proudly served in WWII\, Korea and Vietnam.  He was awarded 4 Navy good Conduct Medals\, American Campaign Medal\, World War II Victory Medal\, Korean Service Medal\, Vietnam Service Medal.  He served On USS Shadwell\, USS Bon Homme Richard\, USS Constellation\, and at NAS North Island\, CA\, NAS Norfolk\, VA\, and NAS Kingsville\, TX. \nRoy is survived by his daughter\, a sister and 2 grandchildren. \nThe family has requested a flag line only at the cemetery where Roy will join his wife who passed in 2009.  They will now both rest in eternal loving peace. \nNote: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran.
