Austin Bieren (25) of the United States Air Force. The Department of Defense announced March 30th\, 2017 that Airman Bieren died of a non-combat related incident in Northern Syria while deployed in support of combat operations for Operation Inherent Resolve. Bieren is the second American serviceman known to have died in Syria.
