Arvil E Smallwood Comment

  1. Mission Complete: May 1, 2021- Sgt Arvil E Smallwood Jr, USA, Vietnam Veteran, Little Axe, Ok.

On Monday, April 19, 2021 there were 11 Patriot Guard Riders on 11 motorcycles who attended the service for USA Sgt Arvil E Smallwood Jr.

The briefing was held, followed by a moment of silence for the Blue, Silver & Gold Star families, POWs, and MIAs. A prayer asking comfort for the grieving family, a safe mission, and protection for our military personnel engaged in the Global War on Terror was also said.

This was a grave side service for the Family at Browns Cemetery. The Hero and Family were accompanied from the home to the cemetery by 3 PGR members. A respect line was formed at Browns Cemetery as the Hero was moved to the grave site.

Military Honors were performed by the US Army, Taps was played, and the American Flag was Folded and presented to the spouse of our Hero.

The RCIC thanked the family for allowing the PGR to participate in the ceremonies and the plaque and Invocation were read and then presented to the spouse.

Thank you to all our fellow Patriot Guard Riders for attending this mission. Your presence made a difference to this family.
Most of all, thank you Arvil E Smallwood Jr for your service to this Great Nation. Rest in Peace Soldier, your mission is complete, and you will not be forgotten.

    Carl Watts, RCIC
