ABOUT THE MISSION:
CPO DeLaet served in the United States Navy for 30 years on active duty and the Reserve as well. When he was asked to step up and serve, he did so with no complaints or issues. He served during WWII, Korea and VietNam on several duty stations…US Naval Station Kwajalein Island, US Naval Station Guam, Marianas Island, Naval Construction Battalion Guam and Marianas Island. Then came stateside for storekeeper Class”B” School, then on to Pearl Harbor, aboard the USS Oriskany (CVS) 34. By the looks of his service record he came stateside for a US Reserve Training Center Post in McAlester, OK. The Reserve units stationed him several places including his last duty station at the Marine Corps Reserve Center Salt Lake City, UT, where he retired after 30 years of honorable service. He was awarded several personal commendations from his commanders where he was stationed on the outstanding job he did.
