ABOUT THE MISSION:

The family of US Army WWII Veteran Anthony Buonopane Sr., 91, has requested our presence at the funeral of their loved one. At the age of 17, Tony joined the Army in 1945 and was assigned to the 8th Army, training for the invasion of Japan. Fortunately for him and so many other soldiers, Japan surrendered after the atomic bombings and the 8th army became an occupying force. He was discharged in 1946 and then went on to be a member of the Massachusetts Army National Guard for the next 41 years.

I want to sincerely thank all who were involved in the Honor Mission for my Dad, SFC Anthony L. Buonopane. I appreciate what you have done on past missions, and what you continue to do. May God Bless you and your’s, and ride safe!

Our sentiments are the same as our sister Christine (above). Our father would have been proud of all of you with your service and dedication to our country. We were especially blessed and honored by your presence during our father’s funeral procession and attendance at the memorial. Thank you so much for all you do and for the final farewell to our Dad who was so proud of his country! God Bless you all!
