AFTER ACTION REPORT: No One Attending Memorial Service, Fort Gibson National Cemetery, Fort Gibson, OK

Wednesday, 06 March 2019 was a pleasant March day. The PGR staged and briefed at the Fort Gibson National Cemetery. Flags had been posted around the Committal Shelter and were blowing in the wind. There were 18 PGR and 4 guests in attendance. Chaplain Forrest Kirk from the Muskogee VA Hospital was in charge of the services today. At the conclusion of Chaplain Kirk’s message, the Haskell American Legion Post 55 came forward. A three round volley was fired, Taps were played by Bugles Across America and the flag was folded and presented to FGNC staff member. The PGR Invocation Letter was read and copies given to the staff to be mailed to the families of the Hero’s that were honored today. The service was closed and all in attendance were dismissed. Flags were retrieved and prepared for the next mission. “Thank you” to all who participated in todays Memorial Service. “Thank you” to Dan Koehling who stepped up to RC todays mssion.

    We honored the following Veterans:

    Kenneth Dare, US Army, Korea
    Leroy Smith, US Army, WWII
