ABOUT THE MISSION:

The Director of Fort. Bliss National Cemetery has requested the Far West Texas Patriot Guard Riders to stand a flag line during their quarterly service honoring the internment of our Unaccompanied Veterans and Last Roll Call Ceremony of Remembrance. This ceremony is to recognize those Veterans who were previously laid to rest April through June 2019 without honors or with no family in attendance. These Veterans, referred to as Unaccompanied Veterans, are former service members who’s next of kin is unknown or loved ones could not attend their service. Many times, burial arrangements have been made by a public administrator, a VA medical center, or some other authorized entity. A substitute family member will be in attendance to accept the honorary draped flag. The name, rank and branch of service for each veteran will be recognized followed by Taps.
