AFTER ACTION REPORT: No One Attending Memorial Service, Fort Gibson National Cemetery, Fort Gibson, OK
Wednesday, 01 May 2019 was a very pleasant May day. The PGR staged and briefed at Fort Gibson National Cemetery. Flags had been posted around the Committal Shelter and were blowing gently in the wind. Chaplain Forrest Kirk from the Muskogee VA Hospital was in charge of the service today. At the conclusion of Chaplain Kirk’s message, the Haskell American Legion came forward. A three round volley was fired, Taps were played by Bugles Across America and the flag was folded and presented to a FGNC staff member. The PGR Invocation Letter was read and copies given to the staff to be mailed to the families of the Heroes that were honored today. The service was closed and all in attendance were dismissed. Flags were retrieved and prepared for the next mission. “Thank you” to all who participated in today Memorial Service.
We honored the following veterans:
1LT Wilma Heath USAF, Korea
1Lt Edgar Bradshaw USA RET, WWII, Korea, Vietnam
PFC Billy Acklin USA, Korea
2LT Robert Rogers USMC, Korea
THE NATION THAT FORGETS ITS DEFENDERS WILL ITSELF BE FORGOTTEN, I PRAY THAT WE NEVER FORGET (THE DEFENDERS OF OUR FREEDOM)
