ABOUT THE MISSION:

The family of Al “Colonel” Shiffert has requested the Patriot Guard to stand a flag line before his memorial service. We will then escort family and friends to Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, where well deserved military honors will take place. LTC Shiffert retired from the United States Army, serving for over 22 years and in the Vietnam war. He served over 6 years in foreign service. After retiring from the US Army, he started his career in education at CBC where he was affectionately referred to as “The Colonel”. While teaching at CBC, Al taught ROTC, Honors English, Terrorism, Vietnam, War Between Wars, and was an assistant basketball coach.We thank you for you service and are honored to stand for “The Colonel” as he once stood for us.

Ride meeting to follow staging. Flag line until the start of memorial service at 9:30 am. We will escort family and friends to Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 11:30 am ETA. Flag and support provided by Danny “Wolfman” Reinbold Weather is expected to be sunny with a high of 90 degrees. It will be important to stay hydrated during this mission.

  1. My wife and I wish to extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of this true American Hero, US Army (Ret), Viet Nam War Veteran, Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) Alvin Shiffert. Upon my arrival to the Military Personnel Records Center, 9700 Page, St. Louis, MO, I had the honor to meet and work with “The Colonel” on many applications for soldiers making application for appointment as commissioned officers. Al was a dedicated officer and good friend to many that knew or met him. We thank you for your service to a grateful nation, may your family find peace in knowing you served proudly and comfort in the months to come. May you rest in peace for your mission is now complete. I salute you.
