Honor Mission
Alfred O’Neil Hendrick
USN – WWII

ABOUT THE MISSION:

The SC Patriot Guard Riders has been requested to honor another WWII veteran from that great generation again. Alfred O’Neal Hendrick 94 was a WWII veteran who served in the US Navy during March 31, 1944 to June 9, 1946 as a Radioman 3rd Class. After his service he attended the college of University of South Carolina and later went to work for (UPI) United Press International and retired. RM3 Hendrick enjoyed the beaches in SC, enjoyed looking for antiques and was a very loving family man. RM3 Hendrick was a loving husband, father, grandfather as well as great grandfather. A while back he was honored to go on the “Honor Flight” out of Charleston going to Washington DC. He was pleased to go on this flight with his (4) brothers who were WWII and or Korean veterans. His last living brother will be attending the memorial service on this date.

Special Instructions:

Briefing: 9:15 AM
After the briefing, we will form a flag line for the family and friends of the veteran for the memorial service to start at 10:00 AM. We will maintain the flag line until the memorial service is over and render honors during the military ceremony. Then at the end of the service, we will return the flags to flag wagon and return to our homes. Due to COVID19, we will abide by all rules and regulations set by the CDC and the State of South Carolina Department of Veterans’ Affairs. Each attendee is responsible to bring a personnel face-covering. It does not have to be an actual mask, any sort of covering will be sufficient. In keeping with the requirements of the State of South Carolina Department of Veterans’ Affairs, PGR members will maintain at least a six-foot distance between each other during the briefing and flag line.

Flags will be provided
Large Bike Flags will NOT be needed.
Water will be provided.
