Memorial
Albert Michael Hinton, Veteran, LEO
USAF – Vietnam
Kennesaw/Cedartown, Georgia – 11-24-20

ABOUT THE MISSION:

The Family of USAF veteran Albert Michael Hinton and the Daughters of The American Revolution (DAR) has asked the Patriot Guard Riders to participate in his flag ceremony. The Patriot Guard Riders are accompanying his flag by Pony Express from The Oklahoma History Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to The Polk County Historical Society in Cedartown Georgia.
SSGT Hinton was a Vietnam veteran who served in the USAF from 1970 to 1980, after that he went to work at The Oklahoma City VA Medical Center as a Police Officer.
The Edmond Oklahoma Cordelia Steen NSDAR Chapter noticed 12 flags framed and displayed in the waiting area and inquired with military personnel as to the history behind the display. When informed that these 12 flags belonged to deceased veterans whose surviving family members could not be located, the DAR decided to use their genealogical investigative skills to locate family members. Albert Michael Hinton’s flag was one of those displayed on the wall at the Oklahoma City Airports’ Military Welcome Center and The DAR was able to locate his cousin in his hometown of Cedartown, GA.
