Altoona, Pennsylvania – 09-11-19
ABOUT THE MISSION:
The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited by Stephen Siller Tunnels to Towers Foundation to escort then stand in honor as we welcome Sergeant Adam Hartswick to his home. On May of 2013 in Afghanistan’s Kandahar Province, SGT Adam Hartswick’s second platoon was being attacked by small arms fire and improvised explosive devices. SGT Hartswick jumped on the nearest truck heading to the scene, when he arrived, he treated the walking wounded while waiting for the Explosive Ordinance Disposal Team to arrive. When they showed up, the IED went off while trying to defuse it.
Adam received the Purple Heart and the Army Commendation Medal for his service and sacrifice. After time at Walter Reed and retiring from the U.S. Army, Adam found a new calling, as an Instructor with Techline Technologies, teaching a tactical combat casualty care course for First Responders. SGT Adam Hartswick was also noticed and now a recipient of a smart home built by The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation, who builds mortgage-free smart homes for our wounded veterans. Each home is custom designed to address the unique needs of each individual.
Please join us to Honor,Thank and Welcome Home SGT Adam Hartswick to his forever home designed and built for him.
