ABOUT THE MISSION:
Mr. Lyon graduated from Firth High School in 1955, then he attended Idaho State University. Major Lyon joined the US Army in 1958 to serve his country and finish his education. He Graduated from the University of Hawaii with a medical science degree and earned a masters in microbiology degree from the University of Arizona. Major Lyon served 23 years as a medical officer and served a tour in the Republic of Vietnam where he was exposed to agent orange. Major Lyon received many awards and commendations while serving his country including a Bronze Star Medal. After his retirement Major Lyon returned to the Augusta GA area where he and his son owned and operated Lyons Trucking Company. Special Instructions:
Briefing time is 8:30 am, We will stand a flag line for MAJ Lyon’s arrival at 9:00 am until the service begins at 12:00 pm. we will break down and prepare for a LEO led escort to the family cemetery. The escort will be approximately 10 miles, the last mile is dirt with sandy sections. To get to the cemetery you must go through a grassy pasture with no road, if you are not comfortable with riding in these conditions please consider caging, if riding bring kickstand puck. An alternate address is listed for the church since some GPS’s do not recognize the primary address.
