Navy Veteran Interior Communications Electrician Petty Officer Third Class (IC3) Jackie Carlyle Kelehear Sr served honorably for 4 years from 22 July 1949 – 6 August 1953 during the Korean War.   IC3 Kelehear served proudly on the USS Prairie – Destroyer Tender and the USS Bushnell – Submarine Tender during his service in the Navy.  He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal\, Korean Service Medal\, and the United Nations Service Medal. After serving in the Navy\, Mr. Kelehear returned to Columbia\, SC to attend USC to major in Electrical Engineering. He worked for the USPS and was active in Shriners and was a lifetime member of the Masons. Upon retirement from the USPS in 1989\, he and his lovely bride\, moved to Islandton\, SC to live a simple\, full life on the farm. If you fly big flags\, please check your flag mounts and ensure they are secure.
