ABOUT THE MISSION:
Ladies and Gentlemen of the Patriot Guard Riders, we have been requested to stand for Walter Joseph Johnson, 93. The seventh of nine children, at 18, Walter was drafted into the U.S. Army. An infantry soldier in the European Theater, he earned a WWII Victory Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, and the Army of Occupation Medal w/ Germany Clasp. He received a Silver Service Star for combat in five major battles – Africa, Sicily, Italy, France, and Germany. Following his discharge, he returned to the Portland area, met the woman he was married to for 60 years, raised a family, and worked. Please join us as we help support his family, pay our respects, and honor his service to our nation.
