    Herb "Nightrider" Parsons Bio:
    User Name: hparsons

I grew up in a military family. Both my father and stepfather were in the Army, and like most Army brats, I grew up all over the country as well as a few years out of country (including my birth when my father was stationed in Germany). I also grew up with motorcycles most of my life, starting with a Kawasaki 90 street bike in 1970 when I was 14; with a succession of different bikes over the years.

During one of "no bike" periods in late 2006, I saw a story about a relatively new group in north Texas, the Patriot Guard Riders. I was impressed with their mission and determined that as soon as I was on two wheels again, I would be a part of the group. I rode my first mission in January of 2007, and knew that this was going to be a big part of my life. In 2015, then Vice President of Operations Robert Collins asked me to take over the position of Director of Operations, which he had vacated when the VP Operations position was created.

I work as a government contractor as the Systems Administrator at the George W. Bush Presidential Library in Dallas, TX. My wife and I (Gini) live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area (North Richland Hills) and have 5 adult children and 11 grandchildren all living close by. To say life is good would be an understatement, and I am honored to serve the PGR in any capacity needed.
