USAF 1970-1990 C-141 Flight Engineer
After retiring from the Air Force, being a C-141 (Starlifter) Flight Engineer, I seemed to become detached from military activities & fellow veterans. Feeling that void in my life, I started looking for a way get reconnected with Veterans, so I joined the American Legion, Post 80, Saint Cloud, FL., and subsequently the American Legion Riders. After a short time, I knew there had to be more I could do to better utilize my favorite past time, riding and at the same time associate with fellow veterans & people with like interest, so I started looking again.
While exploring what to do, I accidently stumbled across a YouTube video of a PGR Mission for a fallen Hero and immediately got chills up my spine seeing these Patriots riding and standing in a Flag Line honoring a Fallen Brother. Before the video was over, there was no doubt in my mind I had to be part of that and couldn’t join the PGR fast enough.
During my short tenure with the PGR, it has been without a doubt, one of the most rewarding activities I’ve done to date and I am so very proud to call myself a “Patriot Guard Rider”.
