  1. noticing that a lot of the requests are for the DFW area. I live in Central TX just south of Austin. Are we missing the Central and South Texas requests or how do I see them? thanks.

    1. Several missions have been posted for Austin; however, many of the areas in Texas have their own notification systems. We’re working on getting everyone on board in posting to the national site, but it’s a work in progress. If you wish, you can email the Texas State Captain at txsc@patriotguard.org and he can give you details on Texas regions.

  2. In Austin, go to AUSPGR.ORG and sign up. Frank will be happy to put you on the email list. They also have CenTex and San Antonio missions listed on their page.

  3. How many different areas are there in Texas? Is there a way to narrow down our Mission Notices to those closer to home?

  4. Jimmy, we have eleven different regions in Texas, each under their own Deputy State Captain. As you can read above, many have their own notification system for Missions. Shoot me a note at Manager@PGRStore.org and I’ll be glad to direct you to the right folks to get you hooked up!

    1. I heard that there was the Patriot Guard ride for the Wall of life in San Antonio, TX. Fort Sam Houston Base. Any information would be helpful.

  5. Can I make a suggestion about the Mailchimp notifications? I will anyway. lol In my opinion, Texas needs to be broken down into the 11 regions for notification subscriptions. Currently I receive notifications for ALL of Texas and, frankly, it’s way too much. I can see wanting to notify as many members as possible on KIA Missions but local Honor Missions just aren’t going to pull in the out-of-towners for attendance. I’ve already become somewhat numb to the number of email notifications that I get, even to the point of not clicking on them because I’m 95% sure that they are for other areas and I don’t have the time off to make events for other areas. With Mailchimp, I’m pretty sure that the areas could be broken down further and I really think it would help.

    1. Jimmy, that’s an option we’re looking at, but it’s probably several months down the way. Keep in mind, we have 50 states, many of which are large enough that they break themselves out into regions.

In the meantime, I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but the subject line contains the city where the mission is to be held. That should help on choosing which emails to open.

  6. I am available Sundays and Mondays in the Tyler and surrounding areas, thanks to all who have given it all,to make country free.

  7. I have recently joined but haven’t yet attended a mission. Have a friend coming in for visit to San Antonio that is PG. We are planning on getting to a mission for my indoctrination next week.
    Proud Army Veterans

  8. I just now signed up and joined. I can’t thank our veterans enough, I’m not a veteran but I would be honored to be apart of the PG. I don’t know my next step. But I will eventually see y’all out there.
    Thank you PG

  9. I just signed up and am prepping my bike. Can someone reccomend a good flag mount? I have seen a few but am not convinced they will be sturdy enough especially for the larger flags.

    1. I would suggest going to a few missions and look around at other bikes with flags mounted. Many, if not most bikes, have flag mounts that have been fabricated by the owner. After seeing one bike at a mission, I used chrome boat fishing rod holders that I bought from Academy, which worked very nicely on my Yamaha V-Star. I drilled holes through them, which I used the existing bolts on the sissy back support to attach it, and used chrome tape to cover the outside hole. I now have a Goldwing which I have the Rivco trailer hitch flag holder.

  10. Moving to Texas from Missouri, we had an escort of the veterans. We would meet at the designated area on our motorcycles. The veterans flew to Washington DC to tour the wall and flew back to Stl Missouri. As the buses drove past us we the would escort the buses full of veterans to the hotel and there they were recognized over a loud speaker, name, rank, service and war time. Is there a mission as such here ?

    1. Here in San Antonio, we welcome home the Honor Flight veterans at the airport. These missions are posted here, on the San Antonio PGR website (sapgr.org), and the San Antonio PGR facebook page. The next scheduled Honor Flight from San Antonio is May 3 – 4, 2019. If you are somewhere else in Texas, do a search for Honor Flight in your area and see what the schedule is. And then look for notification here or on the local PGR website.

    2. @bob1200xl – Yes, to echo Lisa Menard’s reply, it sounds like you’re describing Honor Flight. Here in Ellis County, the PGR has ridden with many Ellis County Honor Flight buses up to DFW International and Dallas Love airports. My wife and I have also served as guardians on two different flights (hers was here, mine in Indiana). The national website is http://www.honorflight.org. You didn’t mention where you are in Texas, but if you use your favorite search engine and use “texas honor flight” you should get several Honor Flight organizations from around the State (e.g DFW, Houston, etc.) hopefully including your area.

  11. Good afternoon everyone,

How do we connect with other riders when traveling out of town in support of our Heroes? Is there a way to connect with others to ride as a group vs riding solo?

  12. All, I’ve enjoyed reading all the posts and have definitely learned a lot. I’m a newbie as for yet to join in on a PG ride. Unfortunately, I had to travel to New York to take care of sibling estate due her transitioning. I’m returning sometime to Houston end of June or sometime in July, and looking forward to participating in future events and escorting our fellow veterans. Have a Blessed Day and week and thank you all for your advice / input to our fellow PGR members.

  13. Hello All,
I signed on in April 2019. I have been unable to attend any Honor calls. I would like more information about what to do and when to do it.
