OCT 11, History and Future...

In just a few days, the Patriot Guard Riders will have been honoring our heroes and their families for six years.  It's a commitment that will last as long as we hold to our values and faith in our country and those who defend us. There was one Congressional resolution last year that credited us with over 19,000 missions at the time.  When you think about all of us being volunteers, that's absolutley incredible.

If you've ever shaken hands with a family or read our letters pages, you know the difference you make for our families.  You should also know the comfort you help provide for our active duty, knowing that they are returning home to a grateful nation and their sacrifices rememberd and honored.

I'm not going to write much about updates.  Those responsibilities have passed to the new Board and that they will proceed and update you all with a new sense of energy to provide the communications in a more timely fashion.  Right Tejas?

It's been a lot of work, stress, and an honor beyond words to have been on the BoD and the President for so many years.  I cannot imagine a finer group of people, or one that is more committed to our heroes.  When most folks are staying in out of the weather, we stand for those folks that keeps our homes and country safe.  It's our honor to be invited to stand the flag line, it's also an obligation that we feel in our hearts.

Thank you for the priviledge and honor of being the President and serving the Patriot Guard Riders for so long.  I'm absolutely ready to promote back to the flag line with my new time.

Please always ride safe and with honor; and always keep the PGR with integrity and dedication to our mission.

Congratulations to George and Bob for their willingness to accept additional responsibilities and the continuing BoD members for their dedication.

Thanks and respects always ~ whirlwind

It is always a sad day to loose a Hero and it brings tears to my eyes but I'd rather not be anywhere else than Honoring an American hero. Never to be forgotten and always loved.

Thank you Whirlwind for working hard for PGR. I thought I would have to stand alone last Fri for a VietNam vet in my hometown, 6pm near Christmas, gridlock roads in NJ, then a PGR Capt arrives and the 2 of us stood for 3 hours & family thanked us with tears in their eyes and said "Ed would loved this". Next day we had 11 bikes but Fri meant alot. This is PGR.

I can find no volunteers in America acting with greater honor than you have - Soliders stand between the enemies without and their country and this is a noble thing - but your mission is to stand between the enemies within and our soldiers. Few give themselves up for a soldier - this is a unique and rare love.

I just attended the funeral of my friend Todd Erickson. When I got there I walked over to talk to some of the PGR guys. They were all very nice. I had not known that Todd was a member of PGR until his untimely passing. I asked if i could stand in on there breifing to get a feel for what it is to be a PGR member. They said no problem and then handed me a flag. I was honored to stand in the flagline for my fallen friend! Everyone was so helpful with the questions that I had about the group. Immediately after returning home from the celabration of Todds life I got on the computer and joined. I have always liked to show my respect for our military service men and women and also fire and rescue and law enforcement men and women. This is a great opportunity for me to be able to give back to those that give so much to us. Cant wait to start serving and paying respects to those who have given so much to us! Special thanks to Scott steelhogg Warner and his wife and Lori McGillivry and her husband.

I just signed up to be apart of PGR as of today. You all stood for a good friend of mine in 2007. SRA Will Newman, of TN who was with the, 15th CES EOD, out of Hickam AFB. I look at his story often with tears in my eyes for him and what you all did on his day for him and his family. I have been searching all over to find you all to say thank you. Thank you for your time, blessings, courage and hearts. Now it is my turn to protect, serve and give respects to our fallen and their family as you did for us. I am grateful that now I can stand by a new family and do for others as you all have done for us.

I just recently became a member of PGR. On Monday, 30 April,2012, I completed my first mission in Plant City Florida. What an incredible honor it was and I am proud to be associated with such a fine group.
