To the PGR

To the PGR
I know I should have posted earlier but I felt that the last few days have been for Jeff and the members. For the past year Jeff has been my hero and has become my friend and brother. Other people claim to have started this movement and maybe so. But Jeff was the one with the vision and desire to take it the rest of the way. For that alone, and the example he has set, we owe him big time. He is my friend and I'm proud to call him my brother.
Over the last several months I have seen much bitterness and acrimony on the site regarding this man and each other. Isn't it time to focus on the mission and the mission statement instead of picking at each other? Is that all we have to do? It seems like a lot of wasted emotion to me. I say thank you to Jeff for forming the PGR and supporting it's growth over the last year. What he has done is fantastic. I will be proud to try and follow in his footsteps.
When I was first asked by the board and Jeff to take this postion my response was a resounding NO!!! But Jeff threatened bodily harm so here I am for one year. I will not try to be Jeff ( I'm not )' I will be Snap ( I am). I will do the best I can with your help to keep us growing but I will need your help.
The attitude of National should be " what can we do to help" not "do it this way". I will assure you  that will happen. My home number is 334-277-7707, my cell 334-651-8481. It is there for your needs. I may not tell you what you want to here but I will tell you the truth.
Let us go forward with God's help and continue to, as Jeff says " do the right thing"

Snap, I am behind the PGR wholeheartedly, whoever is at the reins.

My idea is maybe someday to let the membership vote on Executive Director and on the board.

I didn't know Jeff but I do know he, and others, have done a great thing starting the PGR. I respect Jeff's decision but I don't agree with it, but then again I don't know all the story from all sides either. I'm sure he made the right choice for him.

I hope you can get the store going again soon. If it means buying the store from Jeff then so be it. I'm sure money enough could be raised. I'm sure he has put in enough time and energy do deserve something other than just a thankyou.

Snap,

I belong to many organizations. But this one has given me back my PRIDE that was lost many years ago. I know Jeff has done this for the men and women of the armed services and not for himself. You will do well with the help of the members. You can not hold this organization up on your own. I will do whatever you need and I think 95% of the members will stand behind you.

Snap,

I've met you in person. I've talked to you on the phone many times. I believe we were on the same page as a result of our conversations. Way back in Februaror so there was a problem with a particular state captain, we talked about him and a few days later he was gone. At the Gathering of the Guard in Oklahoma there was the member who got the big back patch and he immediatley put rockers along with it. Remember?
The PGR's mission is truly a noble and needed cause. What happened during the course of the year was amazing. Yes there were and still are growing pains, a STRONG chain of command is needed to keep it going in the right direction. YOU can make it happen. Yes you will have to hurt some feelings and deflate many egos. You will have to ferret out the power trippers of which there are many. You know you cannot appoint the first person who sticks his hand up for a position. And most important and I feel this has caused the most consternation among many of us is that you MUST get rid of the poser, wannabe IMPOSTERS who use Stolen Valor to make them out to be someone they are not. They have to become persona non grata NO MATTER what. You can;t wrap yourself up in the Flag and turn a blind eye to these scum of the Earth people. There are many of us that were disgusted with previous leadership who just buried their head in the sand over these people because "they were for the mission" that's B.S. and you know it, and then the persons questioning these imposters were censored by moderators and even kicked out of PGR.
It's up to you to take the 400 pound gorilla and tame it.
Good Luck and may God bless you.

A note to all other PGR members: you may have a suggestion or different opinion on something, please remember to give your suggestion in a respectful, constructive manner. It makes a big difference - just think about how it makes you feel when your boss (or subordinates) at work does the same or not. Snap - - i'm a very new member. I read Jeff's message with respect and some confusion.

From the "outside" I had never heard anything but togetherness and resolve about PGR.
I'm somewhat disappointed to hear that the PGR has the normal number of dissatisfied members - - thought I'm old enough to know that's life !!

I realize that where people exist then there will always be those who want their way and do not trust another's direction - - so be that - - I hope PGR's will live up to the reputation I have always thought of them and just disregard the dissenters and move on with the mission.

You surely will not remember but I met you briefly at 29 Dreams Motorcycle Resort in Alabama. I was impressed with your enthusiasm and your apparent knowledge and dedication to PGR.

I am anxious to assist you in any way I can here in Birmingham.

My thanks to Jeff for founding this organization which gives us the opportunity to use our motorcycles for this noble cause !!!!

We all know that the gal in Kansas started the Patriot Guard idea, and she seems to want to make sure "everyone" knows it but we also know that their main focus was "Kansas and ALR"! Jeff "Twister" Brown may have been but a "tiny" part of that which become the "Kansas Patriot Guard" but he is the "Leader with forsight" of the Patriot Guard Riders! Yes, the missions are close in nature between the "different Patriot Guard Independents" and the PGR but they need to admit that they "did not", beleive in the SCOPE of a USA wide organization and I don't beleive they'd have open their ranks to "Non-Bikers/Non-Vets", untill they conceded and became a "part" of the Patriot Guard Riders Organization! JMHO.

Jeff, Jason and others took a idea and worked it into a IDEAL! The 60,000 members of the PGR are from the hardwork and long nights of Jeff and his small band of dreamers and they deserve the "total" credit for the Patriot Guard Riders. I'm quite proud to say I'm a "Colorado member of the NATIONAL Patriot Guard Riders. I for one am pls. that we are a "National Level Organzation" and NOT a bunch of "Independent State Level" organizations with no "central leadership" so the MISSIONS can show "National Unity"! Thank you Jeff for the begining and thank to "Snap" for taking us into the future!

Sincererly and With Respect

It is wonderfull that so many have so much warm and fuzzy things to say about our leaders.

Maybe Jeff should have stuck to the mission statement. Or was his mission to profit from this not for profit missinon. It will take more than words to comfort me .

Just a member that is not too happy , growin pains I guess.

Actions will always speak louder than words.

I am not sure who in leddership I should trust. I trust the people that I have ridden with in several different states, I know their hearts well.

I will always support the mission.

I think some folks need to take a chill pill. Some have compared it to Enron...lmao.... Why do some get so upset when membership cost nothing. If it cost you nothing, please let me know how they run off with your money. DonJ.

I have to agree with everything you said. Thank you Jeff for putting your heart into this great organization! I've had it in my heart but never knew where to put the feelings until the PGR came into my life! I feel that if the "chat rooms" and "crab sessions" (forums) were removed completely and we got back to the basics as to why we are all here, things would be better off! There are a million chat rooms on the internet....find someplace else to complain! There are 67,000 personalities involved with the PGR. Trying to please all is impossible! The amazing part is that we are all here for two reasons...honor and respect. Let's all show a little of both and we'll be alright. Forums for missions only, is the way I see it. Again, Thank You Jeff!
