DoD Identifies Army Casualty
The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Cpl Ryan J. Buckley, 21, of Nokomis, Ill., died in Baghdad, Iraq on June 23 of injuries sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near his HMMWV during combat operations. Buckley was assigned to the Army's 2nd Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.

My condolences and prayers to the Buckley family and may God bless them and stand by them in their hour of need. Cpl. Ryan J. Buckley has given the greatest sacrifice for his country, he was willing to do so without question for others in a foreign land and to preserve the freedoms that all take for granted in this country. His mission is completed. It is now our turn to step up and and honor this hero and begin our mission for him. WE MUST NEVER FORGET TO HONOR HIM BY REMEMBERING...FOR THE FREEDOM WE HAVE TODAY...WAS HIS GIFT TO US. Rest in Peace.
