The family of PFC Everett "Tex" Leroy Balmer has invited the Patriot Guard Riders
to Show Honor, Respect and Gratitude for his service to this Great Nation. He passed
away at his home Friday 10 Oct 08,  where he and his wife Doris, of 62 years resided.
 
Everett was at Normandy the day after D-Day and served in the battle in Rhineland,
Germany, 1941, serving 3yrs. 4 mo.  He received the American Defense Ribbon,
American Campaign Medal, European - African Middle East Ribbon, Good Conduct
Medal, Bronze Battle Star, and the WWII Victory Medal.
 
Mr. Balmer was a  motor cyclist and combat infantryman with the 123rd Field Art.
Visitation and Funeral Services will be held at Bewley Funeral Home - 103 SW 3rd St.,
Aledo, Il.
 
At the conclusion of the Funeral Service, we will escort Everett to his final resting place
in Aledo Cemetery, 612 SE 5th Ave.
 
 
Visitation: Monday, 13 Oct 2008  5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
 
Staging: 3:00 - 3:30 pm - VFW  Post 1571 - 106 SW 3rd Ave. Aledo, Il. parking lot
PRB: 3:45 pm. Walk 1 block to the Bewley Funeral Home - 103 SW 3rd St. Aledo, Il.
to establish flag line.
 
 
Funeral: Tuesday, 14 Oct 2008 Bewley Funeral Home, Aledo 1:00 pm
 
Staging: 11:00 - 11:45 am at the VFW parking lot

With the most grateful heart I offer my deepest condolences to the family and friends of PFC WWII Veteran Everett 'Tex' Leroy Balmer.

'No Greater Love is this that a man is willing to lay down his life for another.' Only two men were willing to sacrifice their lives for us-Jesus Christ and the American Soldier. Neither of which can ever fully be repaid.

Thank you for your Service and my Freedoms. Your sacrifices will never go unnoticed. I am grateful to live in a country made up of volunteers like you. Your choice to protect our Nation and put your self on the line can never be repaid.

To Doris;
I pray the good Lord looks down upon you, places his hand over you and allows you to get through these difficult times, as we mourn the loss of Everett "Tex" Leroy Balmer, US Army WWII Veteran.
As I sat there at your home talking to you, I could not help but feel an overwhelming sense of pride and respect for Everett's accomplishments in life.
Everett's generation set the pace for many generations to come, hearing about some of the battles that he was in and what he had accompolished in the military is truly amazing. Knowing that he went through an incrediable journey in the battle of Rhineland is in itself an amazing act of Heroism.
The video that we sat and watched, as we all shared hugs and tears, again is a true tribute to what Everett meant to everyone, and yes, he was an incrediable fisherman.
To Jim, Judy, Janet, John, Jeanne;
I also offer my deepest condolences and heartfealt prayers during this rough and difficult time that you face.
Just know that Lisa and myself are always available to any of you, when ever you need to talk or just need some comforting.
As I mentioned Sunday night, each tear that you shed is a beautiful memory of Everett.
We will cry and we will mourn with you as you try and get through these rough times.
The good Lord was looking for an Angel to guard heavens gates, and he found that within Everett, I guarantee that he looking down upon us right now and smiling at each and everyone of you.
It will be an Honor, as one of your Ride Captains to escort Everett "Tex" Leroy Balmer to his final duty station. **Below are a few photo's of Everett that we would like to share with everyone.**
