PGR Members,
Sgt Jery Kalka (US Army) just completed a 15 month tour in Iraq and is on his way Home for a visit with his family in the Mohawk, NY area. Along with his service in Iraq he also spent a tour in Afghanistan (2005-2006). His Mother (Barb Kalka), a PGR member has asked if we could meet him at the Syracuse Airport with a flag line.
For this mission we will be staging in the parking lot of the best Western Motel (Airport) on Col. Eileen Collins Blvd at 6PM Wen Oct 15th and departing at 6:15. This is the main access road to Hancock Airport, the motel is just before reaching the terminal on the right hand side.
Hope we can get a good group to show our support for this Soldier.
Thanks Pat Christensen kpchrist@gmail.com Ride Captain Region 3 PGR NY

What a wonderful display of appreciation that greeted my son Sht Jerry Kalka at the airport last evening. I was floored that mid-week, we had such a great turn out. I cannot say enough thank yous. Jerry was also very appreciative and kept saying "Wow" as more flags were presented, as we walked through the flags. I have video of the event and will get it to my ride captain, Pat Christensen. Thank you Pat and everyone who turned out. I am a Proud Momma, but I am also a very proud member of the PGR!
What made it all the more special is Jerry and I shared his welcome home with a US Army Private who was going off to Iraq. It was not planned, but Jerry spotted her and we asked her to join us and she did, and the PGR also gave her a respectful send off, on the spur of the moment. Jerry and I salute you all.
With sincerest appreciation and deepest respect,
Barb Kalka |

PGR Members,
Thanks to all who participated in the Welcome Home for Sgt. Jery Kalka Wen. night, it was appreciated by the young soldier and his Mother Barb. It was great to see the volunteers from the Cpl. Gregory J. Harris Military Courtesy Room (at Syracuse Airport) join us in this mission. It was hard to get a count but my best estimate was 45 people for this mission and that is outstanding.
Thanks again

Our debt to the Heroic men and Valiant women in the service of our country can never be repaid . They have earned our undying gratitude. America will never forget their sacrifices (President Harry S. Truman)
During these days of many trials and tribulations that our land of the free are facing, let us remember to hold our heads up high in remembrance for those who gave thier life for our freedom and those that are still in harms way for this cause. Pray for the brokenhearted and proclaim victory for those who are held captive. Lord, You are the light of the world and we declare You to be Lord over every nation. We know your light shines in darkness and the darkness does not always comprehend, but we also know You light will always prevail. Amen. Chaplin, Lorraine Richmond.
