The Patriot Guard Riders have been asked to participate in Boatsie's Boxes' "Operation Beat
the Heat" troop benefit/support event at the Dollar Tree plaza in Moundsville, WV on
June 28.
This is a charity event to support our overseas troops by sending them various items they
need and use but don't get on a daily basis. This is also a recognition day for all local
military veterans from past wars, conflicts, and including present day service men and
women. We attended this last year and was overwhelmed by the warm welcome we received.
The community is looking forward to our participation again this year.

Ron Jones, WV ASC will be RC for this event.

Itinerary as follows:

Staging: John Marshall High School
1300 Wheeling Avenue
Glen Dale, WV 26038
Staging Time: 12:30 in the front parking lot of the school. Use the south
entrance to this parking lot.
Ride briefing: 12:45 p.m.

Departure: 1:00 p.m., for about a 5 minute ride through Glen Dale to the
Dollar Tree store.

We will be travelling with flags up at less than the posted speed limit, with police
escort, so please make sure all flag mounts are sturdy and durable.
The organizers of this event are excited by our participation, so let's show our
dedicated support of our troops and veterans.

Thanks for all you do,
Ron J.

******************INFORMATIONAL UPDATE************** I have secured a police escort for Saturday. We will be travelling, flags flying, motors revving, at less than posted speed limits. The organizers want us to "put on a good show", and I think we can accomodate them. We also have an informational table set up, passing out flyers, if anyone is interested in sharing their PGR experiences with the public. A lot of people were asking last year. Once there, we will be surrounding many veterans from past and present wars and conflicts. This will also be a time to honor ALL veterans. This should be a fun day for all. Hope to see you there and Thanks for all you do. Ron J. WV ASC WV RC

***********MISSION COMPLETE**************** Staging was at the John Marshall High School with 14 riders. Thank you to all the local riders who came out to help us support our troops. We proceeded to the Dollar Tree parking lot, flags flying, motors revving, with an escort from the Marshall County Sheriff's office. It was good to see "Old Glory" flying from the bikes, and listening to the engines roaring. We turned quite a few heads. After reaching our destination, we set up a perimeter of flags around some local war veterans. We felt honored to be in company with these heroes. I'm glad we were there to salute them. A "Thank You' also goes out to all other veterans honored and recognized this day. We salute you. Thank you to "Boatsie" and "Zoomie" for doing such a fine job for our troops. You are special people. Thank you, also, to the Sheriff's office for escorting us today. You guys always make it easy for us. Thank you.. for all who participated today in this important mission. Your attendance was very gratefully appreciated. Ride safe, Ron J.
